Timeout Concert – Real Life Example
The Timeout concert is an example of a current everyday contract that many people would not realise it. The ads and posters are not the contract it’s self but are what is known as an invitation to treat. The timeout ticket is the actual contract it’s self but you have not entered the contract just by purchasing the ticket. You have only entered the contract once you have handed in your ticket and entered the concert its self. Once this has been done this has shown that you have accepted the offer and understand the terms and conditions of the contract, consequently showing the first three elements, intent, offer and acceptance are present. The contract is a legal containing no illegal goods or services and the terms clearly state that any illegal items which are attempted to been brought in will the offender will be asked to leave. Also if any items are lost, damaged or stolen or you receive any injuries that are not directly caused by the organiser you will not be able to sue them. This is because these conditions are also clearly stated on the ticket and it says that the organiser will not be held responsible for these things.
