in this case the plaintiff had rented out his flat to a woman in which he knowledge of the purpose that she would use them for illegal sexual immoral purposes. But the woman failed to pay the plaintiff his rent and therefore the plaintiff sued for unpaid rent. (Clarke, 2013)

Courts findingThe plaintiff was unsuccessful as he was completely aware of the acts that were going to be committed if he were to rent out his flat to the woman. Although the actual contract to rent the flat was legal, the court still found the contract illegal because the contract was illegal on public policy grounds and would not be enforced. (Clarke, 2013)
